Miep Gies (Hermine Santruschitz)
Miep Gies is probably one the most famous of the Holocaust Heroes. She was made famous for help a young jewish girl and her family known as the Franks. She hid them until their capture in an annex behind a bookcase above Mr. Frank's shop. She was a dear friend of the family and hid many other jews there too. She would occasionally bring them as much food as she could gather when the Nazi's invaded. After the holocaust she met up with Mr. Frank and discussed with her about Auschwitz, he also told here young Anne had died in the camp. Gies is one of the oldest holocaust heroes dying in 2010 at 101 years old, she is also the main reason that young Anne's diary became so famous as her being the one who got it published.
